Hi, My name is Dean and I own a 4-plex in the Anchorage area here in Alaska. As a proud owner and landlord, I need to worry about my tenants' needs first as well as taking care of my building and it's condition. What better way to do both of these than installing a ventilation system that keeps clean air moving throughout all the rooms while limiting moisture and mold all throughout! I chose Healthy Homes Alaska because of high recommendations from AHFC and the great experience portrayed by Pete Klebes in his examination of the property. Pete helped me understand what was going on in my building since I was having high moisture and humidity level issues within the property causing windows to sweat and drip all down the wall during the cold winter months. This was actually the first sign that my property needed help. He also educated me on the health benefits that tenants would enjoy along with this.
His work ethic during the job and reasonable prices were unmatched for the quality of work being performed! He was very educated and knowledgeable in his trade and was always willing to educate me and my tenants. After completion of the work, it was an instant noticeable difference in the quality of air being circulated inside and humidity levels plummeted! One of my tenants, who currently have asthma, said they hardly touch their inhaler anymore since the install! It's a fact that most homes' air indoor is 10 times dirtier than the outside air on average. This is mainly from the tighter homes that are put together now as well as the mass amounts of chemicals and household products used these days. Whole house ventilation is a must for healthy living and will definitely keep your mold and moisture levels limited. My crawlspace is now at room temperature and no longer cold and damp anymore. This is specifically important to property owners that want to save on energy bills and keep foundation erosion problems limited as well.
Finally, my property was enrolled in the AK energy rebate program during the installation of the ventilation system so it's work went towards that as well. I was actually one of the rare individuals in the program that received a 5 star + rating after all improvements and I have this as a main thanks for it! It was originally a 2 star every rating so the improvement was drastic! Unknown to me at the time was the amount heat loss I would be dissolving and money saved on heating costs because of it. Again, there is no one else in the ventilation business today as educated and well crafted as Pete Klebes from Healthy Homes Alaska and I am certainly grateful for his services!

Dear Pete,
I am writing about the wonderful EZ Breathe Home Ventilation System you installed in the crawl space of my duplex. I had no idea such a simple, elegant ventilation system could clean the air so quickly.
One unit of the duplex has two dogs. The other is a licensed multiple cat household. In seeking after the holy grail of an odor and dander free home, I have tried every ionizer, ozonater, and air purifier on the market. Over the years I must have spent thousands of dollars trying to keep dander and odor to a tolerable minimum. Nothing worked. After you installed the EZ Breathe it took fewer than two days for the air pressure to build up under the house so that the air would begin to flow into the crawl space. Within those two days I could tell a HUGE difference. Now, when I come home after a few hours away and open the door I am met with sweet, clean air.
The EZ Breathe is worth every penny. It is the most cost-effective product I have ever found. AND IT WORKS!! Count on me to give a testimonial to any of your prospective customers.

Pete, On behalf of our family, I want to personally thank you and your company for our system and our life. Let me explain the circumstance. We started having issues with our furnace in our forced air heating system. The furnace could not keep heat in the house and kept shutting off. We called an HVAC company to come out to do a service call to find out what was wrong with the furnace. After doing a full diagnostics on the furnace they discovered that there were holes in the heat exchanger and with the sniffer discovered that it was leaking carbon monoxide. Mind you it did not click that my wife kept on having headaches and I was suffering from fatigue both of which are signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. I truly believe that the air filtration system that Healthy Homes Alaska installed over five years ago is the only reason reason that I am able to send this email. My wife and I initially had the system installed to combat my asthma to which I've only had 3 attacks in 5 years and never in the home, but now I can honestly say the system is truly a lifesaver. For any potential customer I'd say the results definitely outweigh the cost of the system bringing to mind what is the lives of your family worth as a truly grateful customer I'd tell you had I known 5 years ago that I would owe my life to the system I would have paid twice the price. Very gratefully Tim Y, Anchorage, AK
In December 2005 I bought a very nice 1983 home built on Baxter Bog, though I was new to Anchorage and was unaware of this. Before the moving boxes were even unpacked I began to cough, and the cough worsened until I could no longer maintain a conversation, talk on the phone or attend public events, especially quiet ones like church or the movies.
No medical treatment was effective. Essentially, my life apart from work ended from 2005 to 2013, when thanks to the Alaska Craftsman Home Program I became aware that my pleasant home had major insulation and ventilation problems. The home was pulling mold, spores and bacteria-laden air through the damp crawl space, up through the rooms and out the roof and joists. An energy loss evaluation (Alaska Housing Financing Corporation) also found that it was leaking nine times the heat it should have been.
An excellent insulation contractor sealed the leaks -- half the solution -- followed by Pete Klebes of Healthy Homes Alaska, who reversed the earlier air flow to bring in clean, fresh air from outside and force it down and out through the crawl space.
The day Pete finished was the day I stopped coughing, and that was one of the happiest days of my life.
I now have resumed the everyday life that everyone takes for granted until they can't do it anymore, and moved after eight years on hold into broader usefulness and productivity again.
Not a day passes that I do not thank Pete in my heart. Cheryl C. Anchorage, AK

Pete,
It has been several weeks since our system was installed in the basement. We have noticed a marked improvement in the quality of air in our whole house. We were especially concerned about our food room which we keep closed off and sealed with a floor sweep to keep it as cool as possible. The EZ Breathe ventilation system is able to pull enough air around the door to get rid of the musty smell.
I did an Internet search trying to compare different systems and couldn’t find anything that worked the same way. Our other option, presented to us in an energy efficiency class, was either a far more expensive heat exchange system that our house wasn’t set up for, or an upstairs bathroom fan that could exhaust air on a continuing basis. The problem with the upstairs fan is that it removes the warmest air off the top and replaces it with cool air drawn in from lower levels (speeding up the “Stack Effect”), causing your furnace to work harder trying to replace the cool air. The EZ Breathe system exhausts the coldest air while drawing down the warmer air, allowing circulation and more energy efficiency. The improved efficiency will more than compensate for the cost of running a low wattage EZ Breathe system.
In conclusion, the installation service given to us by Pete was very professional while being personable and adaptable to our time-frame (we kept putting him off while I worked on the room it was to be installed in). Pete was very helpful and patient in answering our many technical and non-technical questions.
